First, thanks to all of you who have offered to help. You guys are the bomb. A big loud one.

What I do is start with a call to the potential venue and speak with the owner/operator. I tell them that I represent The DUAG, a local artists group. I then ask what kind of artists they show there and if they are taking portfolios or interested in helping to get us noticed. The conversation usually takes off from there.

The next step is meeting with them for further discussions. This usually takes about a half hour. Just show them the portfolio, check out the exhibit space and thank  them perfusely should they agree to have us. Be sure to leave a business card.
